*How many times during the week do you take time to "just be." Movement and mindfulness can go hand in hand very easily. Something as simple as a walk outside while listening to the sounds of nature or a inspirational podcast can create a sense of calm and being. Last week I was able to venture out on a quick solo hike and take time to just sit and listen to the sounds around me. Slowing down and being mindful is something I am always working towards and truth is I am not great at it. I love hiking with my kids and getting outside, it is our happy place and always will be. Let's me be honest though, it isn't always quiet and stress free. So I have set a goal this year to try to get out (on my own) at least one morning a week to take a short hike and taking in my surroundings. I love to hike to a location and sit while listening to birds and looking up at the mountains, along with writing, breathing and prayer. It slows me down, which I definitely need to do more of. If you are like me and short on time, find a spot that is close and speaks to you. I go back to the same place every time for this exact reason. Bring a pad of paper, book, or whatever it is you need to release your thoughts and just focus on what is around you. What do you hear, see and feel? What do you do to create mindfulness in your life? How do you incorporate movement with just being? Share with me your experience, I would love to hear! Let's work together on a mindfulness journey! *Click Read More for a relaxing FLOW
